Beginning Quilting: Magic Cut Disappearing Block

Let’s work on cutting skills, because that is the first step in getting a quilt together with a minimum of headaches! The block looks involved, but the sewing is E-A-S-Y. Two fabrics is all you need. No pattern to buy, I will have instructions. This class will meet in 4 sessions.
Materials Needed-
- Sewing machine in good working order
-¼” foot and walking foot
- New needle
- Neutral cotton thread for piecing (light gray, beige, cream, white) or color to match fabric
- Cutting mat - minimum size 18” x 24”
- Rotary cutter - 45mm (with fresh blade if you have never changed a blade bring the parts we can demo in class)
- Quilter’s ruler for cutting fabric - 6” x 24” or ( 6 ½ x 24)
- Small sharp scissors
- Straight pins
- Safety pins
- Seam ripper
- Chalk, Frixion Pen or Blue water soluble marker
- 1 3/4 yard focus fabric
- 1 3/4 yard coordinating fabric
- 3 1/2 yards backing- will include binding fabric
- 1 5/8 batting
